You must be aware that Central Board of Secondary Education has introduced a compulsory subject called ” General Foundation Course” for all the students in classes XI & XII. Please refer to CBSE Circular No. Acad-66/2013 Dated 12^th September, 2013.

This subject has been introduced to promote the awareness of students regarding current affairs and general knowledge including prospective future career options. It also lays special emphasis on challenging and satisfying career options in the Armed Forces.

2.       GENERAL FOUNDATION COURSE FOR CLASS- XII

These books have been divided into three units, namely, General Studies, Current Affairs and Courses & Careers.

General Studies Unit Covers the Basic knowledge about History, Geography, Civics, Political Science and various branches of science.

The Current Affairs Unit Covers the Indian and International Affairs, Matters of Economic Importance, World Sporting Events, etc.

The Course and Career Units Provide Details of employment opportunities available after finishing school education both in Government and Private sector at various levels. It also provides details of other higher education and vocational courses.
